If
you're not aliens, then who are
you?
IRWIN
Ah
come on Miles! You know me! Why
else would you have put on this
outrageous show? It's me! Irwin
Kirkabee, from Colonel Blitney
Junior High? You couldn't seriously
have forgotten ol' Irwin?
Miles is wary at first
but then slowly takes them into his confidence and reveals his secret plans
for a device that he displays to them. He claims it will open the doors
to other times and places. Audrey is immediately skeptical but Irwin thinks
he knows his friends potential. Miles decides to give them a demonstration.
IRWIN
You
mean you're going right now?
MILES
Adieu,
au revoir...
Miles' hand held time
machine starts to glow and vibrate in his hands.
AUDREY
Holy
jumpin'...duck it's gonna blow!!
Audrey and Irwin jump
behind the couch. They peep over the side at what's happening to Miles.
There is a flash and a pop, and Miles is sitting exactly as he was but now
he sports a full beard and his hair is rattier and longer. Other than that
nothing has changed.
MILES
(dazed
and wide eyed)
Wow!!
What a rush!!
He keels over. Irwin and
Audrey run over to him.
IRWIN
Miles!
Miles! What...what
happened? Are you alright?
MILES
You
two are still here?
IRWIN
We
never left!
AUDREY
Neither
did you.
MILES
What!!?
But I was in Buenos Aires
for two months! It was great!
IRWIN
You
never went anywhere!
MILES
Of
course I did!
He feels his face.
MILES
Look
at me!
